BIO

Ana Elisa De Oleo Ogando is a Dominican filmmaker whose passion for storytelling began in her childhood, influenced by her parents, originally from Hondo Valle, Elías Piña Province, and El Cercado, San Juan de la Maguana, who instilled in her strong values and ethical principles. Elisa found in film a way to explore human emotions and connect with the essence of people. Her attention to detail and fascination with everyday narratives have driven her career, propelling her to create film projects that seek to resonate with audiences and provoke reflection.

Throughout her career as a filmmaker, Elisa has produced works that have resonated deeply with her audience. In 2017, she produced the short film "Un día de Mujer" (A Woman's Day), which won the audience award at the FEMUJER International Women in Short Film Festival. That same year, she directed the short documentary "Camino a Brujuelas" (Road to Brujuelas), which was presented at FEMUJER and at the Dominican Films Festival in NYC in 2021, solidifying its place as one of her most beloved works.

Committed to social issues, in 2017 she produced "Guido's Daughter," a medium-length film that addresses the issue of teenage pregnancy, aiming to raise awareness and promote dialogue. In 2023, she worked on the student documentary "I Respect Intellectual Property, Do You?", supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Korea, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and the National Copyright Office (ONDA), reaffirming her commitment to using film as a tool for social change.

Elisa is the mother of Ellians and Evams, who star in the children's micro-series "Los Musikistas." She has instilled in them artistic values, empathy, and sensitivity towards those most in need. As co-founder of the Aún Hay Más Foundation, she actively contributes to charitable works that benefit the elderly and children, as part of her family's social responsibility.
